Jennifer’s Photo Stories (7) ：Tough Mom, Huge Family 曾錚的圖片故事（7）：媽媽的「三重父母」
This rare and cherished family photo was taken when I was five. My mother is holding my sister, who was not yet a year old. Also pictured are my father, my grandfather, my step-grandmother, and my mother’s two half-brothers.
這張照片是我五歲時照的。我母親抱著我不到一歲的妹妹，其他幾個人分別是我外公、外婆、爸爸和兩個舅舅。
My mother’s biological parents divorced when she was just a year old, and she was subsequently adopted by her uncle. As a result, she often said she had three sets of parents to care for: her adoptive parents; her biological father and his second wife; and her biological mother and her second husband. Despite the size and complexity of the extended family, my mother always maintained good relationships with everyone. Life was hard, but she was even harder—constantly striving to stay on top of everything.
我母親的親生父母在她一歲時就離異了，之後我母親被過繼給她的伯父。所以母親一直說她有三重父母要孝敬：養父母、親生母親與繼父、親生父親與繼母。我記得我小時候，我母親常常需要輪流到不同城市去看望照顧這三重父母。雖然三個大家人很多、關係也複雜，但要強的母親與人人都相處的很好，她做事爲人都很周到，無人能說出她什麼不好來。
這張照片中的是我母親的親生父親與他的第二任妻子。
