China - Taiwan Face off? Aggressive Geopolitics by Xi I Indian Stand I

In a China - Taiwan Face off following merits consideration:

1. Confrontation between Taiwan and the CCP has been on the increase in the past few months. Is it due to the elections that are to be held in Taiwan? How does the CCP view its relations with Taiwan? From a security and economic perspective?

2. Multiple activities are taking place in the Indo-Pacific that may be described as more than competition but less than conflict. Is the focus being shifted back to Indo - Pacific with the Ukraine War dragging on conclusively?

3. Is there a likelihood of a conflict with Taiwan? If yes, how will the US respond in any conflict in the region? 4. It is in India's interest if Xi remains embroiled in the SCS (Taiwan & Philippines) and ECS (Japan & South Korea) as it gives India the space & time required to build its economic and military capabilities. How should India position itself in the ongoing global dynamics and in the event of confrontation between CCP and Taiwan.

4. Do you think China has the necessary political will to assimilate Taiwan?

5. How do you explain China's aggressive geopolitics in the face of a weakening economy?
