Thoughts on My Mother's Birthday 母親生日感懷
Just called my dear mum in China to wish her happy birthday. I never forgot her birthday; and would always call her on this day ever since I left China in 2001.
However, when I heard she saying that she was already 76 years old, I felt a little "shocked" somehow . I only remembered her birthday, but seldom tried to "calculate" how old she was. For me, mum in just mum, forever my dear mum. Still a little bit difficult to cope with the fact that she is already 76 years old. How fast time is flying!
Good news is, she told me that she had NOT been harassed by the Chinese Communist Party for a while now.
I am not sure whether it was because my "Open Letter to President Trump Regarding His Visit to China"(https://www.jenniferzengblog.com/home/2017/11/4/an-open-letter-to-president-trump-regarding-his-visit-to-china?rq=Trump), as well as this report:
China warns lady ‘don’t contact Trump,’ so she writes an open letter exposing the unbelievable
For me, I always believe that we shouldn't keep silent when evil things are happening. We need to expose them.
