JENNIFER ZENG – INSIGHTS ON CHINA

Jennifer Zeng, a human rights activist from China and internationally recognized Chinese dissident, joined Inside the Eye – Live! to share some of her insights about China.  Jennifer is also the author of “Witnessing History, One Chinese Woman’s Fight for Freedom” which details Jennifer’s time spent in labor camps as the Chinese Communist Party cracked down on practitioners of the ancient art of Falun Gong.

Raised in the province of Sichuan, China, Jennifer began her story relating what is was like to grow up as a young girl during Mao’s Cultural Revolution.  As Jennifer related, since her father managed to get a college degree, this made Jennifer a member of the “intellectual class” at a time when China was largely a society based on class structures.  As Jennifer related, this meant that her childhood was quite lonely as to get into an argument or fight would have disastrous for the family as any such arguments would most likely be construed in the day as some form of class warfare for which the family could face retribution.

China’s Cultural Revolution largely targeted the Intellectual Class.

As a young woman, Jennifer immersed herself into the spiritual path of Falun Gong.  According to figures held by the Chinese government, the practioners of Falun Gong in the late 1990’s was estimated to be as large as 100,000,000 people.  Members of Falun Gong would hold large gatherings once a year in Beijing and in 1999, the loose conglomeration of practitioners managed to gather over 10,000 practitioners which resulted in arrests by the central government.

Jennifer was one of those involved in petitioning the government to correct their mistakes.  Apparently, the Chinese constitution has within it protections for the people which the government simply ignores.

The Chinese government chose to ignore its own Constitution and Jennifer found herself arrested and spent a couple years in labor camp detentions.

Jennifer would go on to escape from China and now lives in NY.

We discussed the protests in Hong Kong, the “covid19” virus, Chinese doctrine of total warfare which includes biological warfare, the early Wuhan virus panic, and Chinese government efforts to cover-up and stifle the release of information about the growing danger that the virus in Wuhan posed to not just China, but the whole world.

In this interview, we actually ran out of time.  We could have used more.  Catch the interview here.  We hope she can return.
